StoriedLife: Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the StoriedLife website, mobile applications, web applications, conversational AI platform, interactive books, AR features, printed books, and all related services (collectively, the “Service”).

By creating an account, accessing the Service, or submitting any content, you agree to be bound by these Terms.


If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

 

1. About StoriedLife

StoriedLife provides an AI-enabled platform for documenting, reflecting on, and preserving personal life stories.
The Service helps users capture memories, voice conversations, photos, and media, and generates stories, summaries, reflections, and interactive outputs (including AR-enhanced prints).

The Service is not a substitute for professional legal, medical, financial, psychological, or therapeutic advice.

 

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the Service.
If you are using the Service on behalf of a parent, elder, or another individual, you represent that you have their lawful permission.

 

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
You agree to keep your information accurate and up to date.

StoriedLife may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.

 

4. User Content

“User Content” includes any text, audio, voice recordings, photographs, videos, metadata, memories, stories, or other materials you submit.

 

4.1 Ownership

You retain full ownership of your User Content. StoriedLife does not claim ownership over your stories or media.

 

4.2 License to StoriedLife (Service-Only Use)

To operate the Service, you grant StoriedLife a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, worldwide license to host, process, transcribe, analyze, format, and display your User Content solely to provide and improve the Service.

We do not sell or commercially license your stories.

 

4.3 Anonymized Data for Service Improvement

You agree that StoriedLife may use anonymized and aggregated data derived from your content (with all identifiers removed) to improve algorithms, enhance performance, or conduct analytics.

We never reveal your identity in these datasets.

 

4.4 Third-Party Content & Rights

You represent and warrant that:

  • You have all necessary rights and permissions to upload User Content.

  • If your content includes the likeness, story, or information of others, you have obtained their permission.

  • Your content does not infringe any copyright, trademark, privacy, or publicity rights.

 

You agree to indemnify StoriedLife for claims arising from User Content you submit.

 

5. AI-Generated Content

The Service uses AI to generate stories, summaries, prompts, reflections, and AR experiences (“AI-Generated Content”).

 

AI Content Disclaimer

AI-Generated Content may be imperfect, inaccurate, incomplete, or contain unintended biases.
You are solely responsible for verifying its accuracy, especially before sharing or publishing it.

StoriedLife makes no warranties regarding AI output accuracy.

 

6. Printed Books, AR Features & Digital Exports

You may order printed books, QR-enabled books, AR outputs, or digital exports (PDFs, e-books, videos).

 

6.1 Production & Delivery

  • Printed books may be produced by third-party vendors.

  • Delivery times are estimates.

  • Minor color, formatting, or print variations may occur.

 

6.2 User Review & Proofing

You are responsible for reviewing all content before printing or exporting. StoriedLife is not responsible for errors due to missed user review.

 

6.3 Replacement Policy

If a printed item is defective or damaged on arrival, we will reprint or refund it according to our replacement policy.

 

7. Subscriptions, Billing & Cancellation

Some features require a paid subscription.

 

7.1 Automatic Renewal

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled.

 

7.2 Billing

You authorize StoriedLife to charge your selected payment method for recurring fees, usage-based fees, and add-ons.

 

7.3 Cancellation

You may cancel anytime in your account settings.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle.

 

7.4 Refunds

 

Unless required by law:

  • No refunds for partial billing periods

  • Prepaid fees are non-refundable

 

8. Data Retention, Export & Account Closure

 

8.1 Data Export

You may download your stories and content in supported formats.

 

8.2 Account Deletion

Upon deletion, StoriedLife will:

  • Remove or anonymize your personal data

  • Retain backups for a limited period for security/legal compliance

  • Provide a 30-day export window

 

8.3 Inheritance / Successor Access

You may assign an authorized heir to access your account if you are deceased or incapacitated.
Legal documentation may be required.

 

9. Prohibited Activities

 

You agree not to:

  • Violate laws using the Service

  • Upload harmful, hateful, defamatory, or explicit content

  • Reverse-engineer or misuse AI models

  • Upload malware

  • Create accounts for others without consent

  • Interfere with Service security or performance

 

10. B2B & Enterprise Partners

If you use StoriedLife through a senior-living community, clinic, employer, or other organization:

  • Enterprise Partners may access anonymized insights

  • They cannot access your story content without explicit permission

  • A separate Enterprise Agreement governs these relationships

 

11. Third-Party Services

The Service may integrate with:

  • Print vendors

  • Cloud storage

  • AR engines

  • Transcription providers

  • Payment processors

 

StoriedLife is not responsible for the availability or performance of third-party services.

 

12. Intellectual Property

All StoriedLife software, branding, design, AI models, and technology belong to StoriedLife or its licensors.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer the Service.

Your User Content remains yours.

 

13. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind.

StoriedLife does not guarantee:

  • Uninterrupted service

  • Accuracy of AI outputs

  • Prevention of data loss

  • Printing perfection

  • That the Service will meet your expectations

 

The Service is not professional legal, medical, financial, therapeutic, or psychological advice.

 

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • StoriedLife is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages

  • Total liability will not exceed the amount paid by you in the last 12 months

 

Where limits are restricted by law, the maximum permissible limit applies.

 

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless StoriedLife, its employees, officers, and partners against claims arising from:

  • Your User Content

  • Misuse of the Service

  • Violation of these Terms

  • Violation of third-party rights

 

16. Modification of Terms

StoriedLife may update these Terms periodically.
If changes are material, we will notify you by email or in-app alert.
Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.

 

17. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada.
Disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in Toronto unless prohibited by law.

You waive the right to participate in class-action lawsuits.
